PenStrokes: Memoir Writing with Jane
Using prompts to evoke memory, we write, read, and respond to one another’s writing. You need not have written before to enjoy writing and reading in this supportive atmosphere. Write, in your own natural voice, the stories only you can tell. Plan to write 400 to 600 words each week and bring copies to class. You may later weave your collection of memories and stories into memoir. For the first class write about where you’re from, a kitchen memory, something you have forgotten, or whatever you like. Writing enriches us to ourselves. Lift your pen and begin.
Thursday from 1-3
PenStrokes: Creative Writing Group
This is an excellent class for beginning writers or those beginning again. By focusing on the experience of inner hearing rather than on composing, trying to say something, anxiety falls away and stories flow forth. We use writing to trick us into saying what we don’t know that we know. Using a variety of writing prompts to evoke memory, we will write, read, and respond to one another’s writing. Come enjoy a rewarding reflective writing practice.
